Many Guns Ranch

Located on the Siksika Nation within the Alberta badlands, Many Guns Ranch offers visitors a land based cultural experience guided by Jeanette Many Guns. Guests are invited to learn through place, story, and lived knowledge while travelling through historically significant areas connected to prairie life in the 1800s, including ancient battlefields, buffalo rubbing stones, and the final tipi site and burial grounds of Chief Crowfoot. Experiences are offered by horseback or wagon, led by Jeanette’s lifelong experience working with horses and her role as a Blackfoot knowledge holder, sharing history and teachings through the land itself. Seasonal activities may include harvesting natural medicines and foods such as berries, sweetgrass, and mint, reflecting the ongoing relationship between Siksika land and the Blackfoot people. Visitors can also take part in optional overnight tipi stays, traditional meals such as fry bread and berry soup, and cultural dance performances. Rooted in family lineage and cultural continuity, the ranch shares Blackfoot stories where they originate, on the land.
